The invention relates to an impact resistant polymer composition based on a polyamide and an ethylene-propylene rubber modified with carboxyl groups. The invention is characterized in that the polymer composition consists of 50-99 parts by weight polyamide substantially consisting of units having the formula (CO-C4H8-CO-NH-C4H8-NH), and 1-50 parts by weight ethylene-propylene rubber treated with an ethylenically unsaturated compound containing or capable of supplying one or more carboxyl groups.

The invention relates to a shock resistant polymer composition based on polyamide, which has a good property of retaining dimensions when heated. However, other properties of the composition: wear, creep at high temperatures, resistance to stress, leading to cracking in the environment, heat resistance, are at or above the known polyamide-based compositions.
The aim of the invention is to increase the strength of the material at low temperatures.
In a 30-mm twin-screw extruder, these nylons are mixed with 1.0% ethylene-propylene rubber containing maleic anhydride (Kelt / an 320) in the proportion of 100 parts of nylon (n) and 15 parts of rubber. The rubbers are introduced at temperatures not much higher than the melting points of various nylons for polytetramethylene methacrylamide (H 4,6), polycaproamide (K 6), polyhexamethylene adipamide (H 6.6) at 300, 240 and 265 ° С respectively. The polymers are pelletized and after injection, they are subjected to injection molding on an injection press (50 mm) to obtain test specimens measuring 10 cm by 10 cm 3,2 mm. The molding temperature of the method is 80 C.
